Tape Sales
The Recorded Music Association of America has an extensive database of
pre - qualified buyers of rare Master Tapes and recordings both foreign and domestic.
Because we have such a large world-wide database, we offer to our members
free of charge, our services to negotiate, secure and consummate the sale of their Master audio and video Tapes, both analog and digital as well as rare films, on a case by case basis exclusively for RMAA Members.
Our data base includes but is not limited to, Major Record Companies, both here and abroad, Independent Record companies, Private collectors, Publishing companies and private individuals such as Russian-born billionaire Len Blavatnik,
Virgin Records founder Richard Branson
and Geffen Records founder David Geffen, all known for purchasing master recordings. These are only some of our potential buyers of master tapes.
We can also make arrangements with Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses
to auction off your masters under music memorabilia.
Independent film makers, and major motion picture companies are also seeking out rare master recordings for a countless number of projects each year.
There is no company better qualified to sell your valuable tapes than the RMAA. Because our appraisals are accepted worldwide, we are in the best position to obtain a fair price for your master tapes.
Normal estimated time for tape sales, is between 30 and 45 days, we usually can negotiate a minimum of 50% to 70% of appraised fair market value for a quick sale.

We can provide you with an estimate of what you can expect to get for your tapes depending on the artist, age of the tape, rarity of the recording, how quickly you need to sell, etc.

Our database is updated monthly and our members only site is updated weekly or as additional information has been obtained.
